Welcome to My Spare Time Designs! My name is Babette Switzer and I live in Spring, Texas with my husband of 23 years, John, and our three sons, Trey, Drew and Graham. I have had the luxury of being a stay at home mom all these years and have been able to express my creativity in my crafts.

I have worked in many forms of Folk Art during these years. I have had a full line of original handmade Whimsical Birdhouses, to a large variety of original handmade wooden Folk Art Santa's and Snowmen, that I sell at Craft Shows, to the Needful Things I am currently working on. I take great pride in my work and I hope you will appreciate the time and effort that goes into each one of my pieces. All my designs are originals and I make all my own patterns and draw freehand. I get my inspiration from my wonderful customers and friends that have encouraged me through the years.

I have to give a big "Thank You" to my family for putting up with all the inconvenience over the last 14 years. They have put up with things like sawdust on everything, to me dumpster diving for discarded treasures and to craft show set-ups. My poor husband always has the patience to help me when I get a wild idea for something new. He says "You come up with the ideas and I'll figure out a way to make them work", what a guy! I also want to thank my sister Nanette, for talking me into doing our first craft show all those years ago. She is to blame for all of this!
